Hold on to your trouser buttons or, even better, bring out the ones with the elasticated waistbands, it's cheese time! One of the traditions we have in our house is a New Year's Eve cheese fondue. Yes, it's a bit of a 70's throwback, but it's also one of those dishes that are perfect for small gatherings with friends, fun to share and lovely to have a good chat over.
There are of course many variations out there, but ever since eating myself silly on this when visiting Geneva, I believe that the original is the best. Just imagine a cosy evening, frost outside, music, good friends around the table and you understand what this is all about. And it's of course suitable for all your veggie friends too which helps.
