Don't get me wrong, I like a bit of colour. I am, however, not the kind of person who will ever have a home that looks like a rainbow. The colours I have in my home tend to be muted and in small doses. Accessories like pastel enamel wares, bathroom towels in pale, muted greens and blues, my collection of tins, the odd table cloth, some plates and mugs. Things that basically tie in with the more neutral backdrop.
Neutrals and natural textures are what I feel most comfortable with and what I like to surround myself with. This extends to accessories like the fabulous cushions and cards I spotted on Greenwich Market by The Daily Dream and my little leather bound diary by Barbara Wiggins. It also reflects in some of my craft projects like the "woven wall art" in the third picture that I made from some fabric scraps. I like to let the textures do the talking rather than colours do the screaming... If you fancy making one of those woven pieces for your home (and feel free to use all the colours of the rainbow), click here for the tutorial. What about you? Are you a rainbow person or maybe minimalist black and white is your thing?
