Very occasionally I have what is commonly known as a 'lightbulb moment' - a term clearly very fitting in this case. I look at something and suddenly have a (at least in my mind) brilliant idea of what to do next. This is what happened when I was tidying up a little at home and came across these bowls which I had made quite a while back. I thought that there must be more I could do with paper maché and a lampshade seemed like a great idea. When I say 'seemed' I do of course mean it IS a great idea, don't you think? And the Japanese part? Well, I painted something not dissimilar to cherry blossoms on it and figured it is as close to Japanese style as an amateur like me will get. So, if you're curious to find out how to make this lampshade, then click here for the tutorial and get to work.
