Just as I'm thinking I'm doing something really good, fruit juice suddenly receives some bad press over the sugar it contains. Well, I won't let that stop me. I figured out some time ago that it's probably a good idea to take all of those sudden big press stories about food and nutrition with that proverbial pinch of salt (not too much, mind, that's not good for you either) and kind of carry on regardless - in moderation. Besides, I don't know about you, but I can find it tough to eat enough fresh fruit in winter (I just don't feel like biting into a crunchy apple), but putting some carrots and apples through a juicer and drinking them in order to top up my vitamins seems much easier, don't you think? I'm obviously not saying that downing a carton of shop-bought "orange juice drink" will do much good, but using some fresh, organic fruit and vegetables to make your own doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. And to stay with the healthy theme, Alpro has invited again me to take part in their Alpro AM challenge, so watch out for some healthy breakfast ideas coming soon. Wishing you all a good start to the week.
