Winter has suddenly set in and when I woke up this morning and looked out the window, there was a delicate layer of white frost all over the roofs and cars outside. Everything seemed still and quiet for a while and the beautifully crisp and sunny start to the day is the perfect winter weekend weather. Perfect for a long walk before curling up with a cup of hot chocolate and a book. Or maybe my diary to make plans...
And yes, I do have plans. And projects. After noting a while back on Instagram that I was somewhat worried about the new year because I felt I didn't "have my sh*t together", I didn't have any major projects in the pipeline and I felt that I was free-falling into 2016, things have already taken on a whole new direction. I've been in front of the camera (hands only though!), have landed an exciting new client and have come together with the lovely Aimee from Twigg Studios to host a fabulous weekend-long retreat in North Devon. Yes! I'm so excited about this one! After hosting my first workshop in the Netherlands last year and receiving very positive feedback, I'm happy to offer something bigger, better and more extensive. Teaming up with the hugely talented Aimee means that any participants will be able to tap into our combined knowledge and that there will be a bigger variety of workshops, more time to explore and chat, more time to form new friendships and the chance to stay in a beautiful 19th Century manor house nestled in 5 acres of landscaped gardens in the North Devon countryside.
The retreat runs from 22nd until 24th April and there are 11 spaces available. We will hold workshops on photography, camera settings, using natural light and editing. There will be a cake decorating class using natural ingredients such as fruits and edible flowers followed by a styling workshop where we will use the decorated cakes and talk about props and placement. On the last evening we will have a banquet meal cooked for us by a private chef. There will be a yoga class on offer, and you can take a little time out to enjoy the sauna or the heated pool. Prices start at £995 for a shared room (4 tickets available) and go up to £1145 for a private double room (7 tickets available) all to yourself. However, if you'd like to share the double room with your best friend, then we can offer tickets for £750 per person. There's even an early bird discount of £100 if you book before the end of January!
If all this sounds as good to you as it does to us (and we do of course hope it does!), then hop over here to book your ticket or take a peek at the whole schedule over on Aimee's blog where you'll also find some images of the manor house. We're looking forward to seeing you in the beautiful North Devon countryside.
