Quintessentially english...

We're slowly moving towards the time of the year where we will be agonising over presents and what to buy for friends and family. If the person to be gifted appreciates great design, then I'm sure you can't go far wrong with these gorgeous cups and plates from Flux.  Spotted at the London Design Festival, this was one of the companies I was immediately drawn to for the colours and fabulous designs on display. I love the mix of classic and quirky, blue and gold, contemporary and traditional in these items.

The company is based in Stoke on Trent and where  fine bone china has been manufactured since the 18th century. Flux was set up in 2010 by Staffordshire University and combines traditional craftsmanship with eclectic and quintessential Englishness by a collection of talented designers. Pretty cool, don't you think?
