Ode to October...

October has been exceptionally beautiful this year. It has been mild and sunny (actually just a little too mild, I do like crisp mornings with a hint of fog) with the occasional dark and rainy day. Whilst there were no big adventures, there have been plenty of things to smile about, moments to treasure and new possibilities to get excited about.

Looking back at the month, I can really say that I feel I'm heading into the right direction with my life and the lines between work and fun are becoming more blurred which is the most wonderful and fulfilling feeling. At the beginning of the month I took a little time out in Yorkshire to recharge my batteries because I just felt tired, but then there were all the small things and moments that have made this month feel amazing: I dyed fabric to make my own napkins, had some styling fun at West Elm, finally did an Urban Jungle Bloggers post and published possibly my most open post about myself here

It has been a beautiful month to enjoy nature and gather what it has to offer. The variety of textures and colours is so unique to Autumn. There's a slight melancholy in the air that suits me and the colours have moved from bright and cheery to muted and calming. It's a time where it makes complete sense to just stop everything for a moment, grab a cup of tea or coffee and just stare out of the window for a little while, listen to the birds or go for a quiet walk. It has been a beautiful month and I'm feeling a little sad to say goodbye for another year...
