It's January, Christmas is over and with that my little blog break. I had plans to get on top of all my emails, answer all outstanding blog comments, declutter the house, go for many walks... Of course I didn't manage to do half the things I thought I'd do during the past couple of weeks, what I did manage though was to spend some time with my family, have Christmas in the countryside, and a romantic New Year à deux.
So now it's already 2014 and with that comes the inevitable realisation that I've eaten too much over the past weeks and that there are many areas in my life which could do with an overhaul. It's time for the January detox. The physical detox is the easy part - well, at least in theory. Using fresh herbs and spices brewed into a cup of tea will help the liver to recover and help on the way to a healthier lifestyle. A cup of tea made from fresh mint is one of my all time favourites and some warm lemon water first thing in the morning is great for cleansing. Detoxing and changing parts of my life will be a little tougher. I have plans and goals for this year which I have set myself and I know I will have to work very hard for. I will hopefully be able to give away more about these plans throughout the year. I also want to be more creative, further my photography skills, work on more styling assignments, and post beautiful content here. I need this for my own wellbeing, sanity and happiness. Being creative is what makes me feel alive and gives me a purpose. Without it, I feel like an empty shell: functioning on the outside, but empty on the inside. What better reason could there be to change things?
So, welcome to 2014, I'm happy to be back here and hope you're starting this year on a positive note too. Do you have some plans and goals for the next twelve months?
