I'm typing this whilst sitting in our cosy Christmas home for this year in North Yorkshire, after a walk in the moors and some ginger bread hearts and mulled wine. The place is decorated, candles lit and there's a lovely dark quietness outside.
It feels like exactly the right time to write this. Work is (mostly) done, I have time to relax a little and think about this past year. I have decided to take a little time out from blogging until next year, it's the right time. It's also the right time to thank all of you for your continued support, for reading my ramblings, commenting on my posts, being complimentary about my photos and curious about the food and projects I post.
The point is, it's been a great year for me, but I would have given up blogging some time ago if it wasn't for you, my lovely readers. The ups and downs, doubts about what I'm doing, self-imposed schedules and workload outside the blog seem overwhelming at times and in those moments I wonder why I'm doing it all. Then I read your comments and I know why. Because I love it and I love the engagement with you, my readers. The longer I blog, the more personal the connections feel and the more I appreciate all of you.
So, this is to say a huge Thank You to all of you. Thank you for being here, for taking an interest, for reading, commenting and being supportive. I appreciate each click on here, each comment and every one of you lurking in the background and taking an interest. Thank you.
I am looking forward to continuing in the new year and hope to see you all then. In the meantime, I will use my time off to try and answer your comments and return your visits.
Wishing all of you a wonderful, peaceful, happy and very merry Christmas and all the very best for the forthcoming year 2014.
