Kitchen shelving...

I'm starting to think that a part of me will forever be stuck in my student years. I do like a bit of glamour, my coffee table is stacked with beautiful interiors books, everything is in its place. However, I also love my somewhat improvised "shelving" which would typically be associated with the kind of shared accommodation we tend to inhabit at a time when 'real' furniture seems too conservative or simply proves too expensive.

Having truly outgrown those years, I do of course have proper furniture, but I still can't resist the odd piece of 'non-permanent student style'. The wine boxes I use in the kitchen to stash tea tins, bowls, and even some pots and pans are exactly that. Improvised to an extent and temporary by nature, they provide me with the right amount of casual style and flexibility I like. After all, as you know by now, nothing around my home stays the same forever...
