Happy Easter…

It's nearly Easter and those of you who have given up chocolate for Lent will probably be counting the days to Good Friday. So, with only a few days to go, how about something of a sweet treat? This post is in reply to Kim's request on my "over to you" post here. Kim asked me to style something sweet for Easter. I did wonder, how do I combine the styling, something sweet and something for Easter all into one without simply going back to the usual eggs? Well, how about a Croquembouche decorated with little Easter eggs? Now, a classic Croquembouche is actually hollow on the inside as the buns are built up around a cone. However, as I don't own one of those cones, I decided to create the shape by piling them all together.

So, I set about baking all the little choux buns, filling each of them with chocolate, sticking them together with hot caramel (with help of Monsieur who had to keep the caramel "alive" whilst I was piling up the buns), decorating the whole thing and taking one shot at a time. I can honestly say that this was a labour of love. Not just the baking and decorating itself, but the fact that I took nearly 100 images to create this gif - though I did whittle them down to a mere 80 for the end result. I hope I have fulfilled Kim's brief for something styled, sweet and relating to Easter. Now then, let's build something...

Happy Easter Gif

Wishing you all a very happy Easter.

I'm taking a little break and will be back next week.

In the meantime, why not stay in touch via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
