Today I'm off to Birmingham to the BBC Good Food Show. I shall spend the day looking at food, sampling food, being surrounded by food and interviewing a tv chef - more of that later.
Back at home, in the meantime, I've made another attempt to bring in a little bit of summer to the currently slightly grey days - I know, I don't give up... Inspired by the tablecloth my mum gave me a very long time ago (and it was already vintage when I received it) I went to the florist to get some cornflowers and other natural (if you know what I mean) summer flowers. See, if I lived in the countryside, I'd probably pick these up from fields and the side of the road, but living in London means that I actually have to go to a florist for these. Still, what would a home be without fresh flowers?
