Of Kings and Queens...

On Easter Monday we decided to leave reality behind and venture into the past with a visit to Hampton Court Palace. If you don't know about this place, you can find out more here. Hampton Court Palace was the home of Henry VIII (which explains the huge kitchen), William III and Mary II amongst others and has some magnificent Baroque gardens which I fell in love with. Walking around the gardens felt like being a million miles away from modern day London and was the perfect way to relax for a while.

The day was unfortunately rather cold with a bitter wind and grey skies, and it only cheered up when we were about to leave - typical, isn't it? The good thing though is that it gives me the perfect excuse to go back in summer, maybe take a picnic basket, a book and spend the afternoon in the footsteps of kings and queens...
